It has been another fun filled week at Camp Australia Drysdale Primary School, with lots of students attending the program. Popular activities have included active play, making loom band jewellery, exploring with the perler beads, creating cute Valentine’s animals and outdoor play.
Camp Australia are holding free Virtual information sessions, both for those new to OSHC, and for those who would like to know more about it. Topics covered include our programs, the registration process, billing, the child care subsidy, and more. Sessions are being held on Tuesday the 22nd of February at 1:00pm and once again at 7:30pm. To register for one of these free sessions please go to www.campaustralia.com.au/virtual-info-sessions.
We are pleased to announce the return of the Big Art Week, which is a Camp Australia wide programming initiative that is taking place during the week of the 14th to the 18th of March. we have four days (we will be closed on Monday the 14th due to the Labour Day public Holiday) of exploring and experimenting with lots of art mediums to help children express themselves through creativity and guide their emotional health and individuality.
Please be reminded that due to the current situation with Covid and in line with Camp Australia’s Covid safe plan, shaped by government and health authority recommendations, parents are not to enter the hall building while OSHC is operation. We are continuing our phone in system where parents call the OSHC number when they arrive, and we will bring your child to the door with their bag. Our phone number is 0404 427 452. This number is also displayed on the OSHC glass door.
In line with current government directives, we ask that all children in grades 3-6 (other than those with a medical exception) wear a face mask when they are inside at OSHC. If your child has a medical exception could a copy of this signed by a doctor be provided to the service ASAP. If you have already provided evidence of a medical condition such as for inclusion support reasons you do not need to provide further evidence. We thank the children and families who have complied thus far with this directive and support of us, and the school, on this matter.
The ongoing warm weather means that hats need to come to after school care as well as to school. This has been an issue thus far into the term, as well as in previous years. It doesn’t have to be a school branded hat; any sun smart hat will do. We understand that some teachers don’t let the children take their hats home at the end of the day, and suggest that a spare sun smart hat might live in the bottom of your child’s school bag for when they come to OSHC, or just as a spare should something happen to their school hat. For our younger students their old day care hats could be an option. Please ensure everything is named.
Parents please be reminded that in order to use the service they need to be registered with Camp Australia. We are legally unable to accept children who are not registered with us. Bookings can be made or cancelled by using out Parent portal app, on the phone on 1300 105 343, or online on www.campaustralia.com.au.
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon.
From the team at Camp Australia Drysdale Primary School OSHC.
