Happy Superman day to all of the dads, step dads, granddads, uncles, and other significant men in the lives of the children at Drysdale Primary School. We hope you had an amazing day on Sunday and got spoiled.
This week at OSHC we welcome back Kane from his student placement. I know there are lots of children who will be very excited to see him back, as he has been much missed.
Last week at OSHC popular activities included Marble Painting, active group games, making fathers day cards, imaginative and dramatic play, and engaging in some quiet reading. On Friday we took advantage of the glorious weather and most of the group came outside. In addition to playing on the playground we took them up to the senior end of the oval where they played on the spiderweb climbing frame we had a few games of gaga ball. The children, all of them in the lower year levels, really enjoyed having the chance to play on the ‘big kid’ equipment, and to play Gaga Ball in the Gaga pit. This week we have planned activities including Beading, Scratch art, Perler bead craft, Yahtzee competitions, Paper airplane making, Origami, and some science experiments.
The term is now flying by, and the time has come to make your bookings for School Holiday Program. The theme for these holidays is Superheroes. Your Children will experience fun workshops and activities to build their superhero characters from concept to reality. They’ll create their costumes in Masks & Magic, bowl away the baddies in Strike Force and complete their first superhero mission in Operation: Rescue. Copies of the program that will be on offer at our two closest Holiday Clubs, Ocean Grove Primary School and Geelong East Primary School, are now available on the Camp Australia School Holiday Club website, which is www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs. If these locations do not suit your family’s needs, then programs are also located at Fyans Park Primary School, Montpellier Primary School and Geelong Lutheran College.
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall, We open at 7:00 each school day, and send the children off at 8:50, when the teachers are scheduled to commence their yard duty. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00. At 3:30, once the school bell goes, children attending after school care walk over to the hall from their classrooms, with preps being picked up from their classrooms and we provide a safe place for them to play and engage with other children until they are collected. Our closing time is 6:00. For more information on our service and fees, you may visit our website www.campaustralia.com.au. If you prefer to speak to us, you can contact our friendly Customer Care Team that is available to support our families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – except for National Public Holidays. Alternatively, you’re welcome to visit us in service and chat with our qualified Educators about the Camp Australia program at your child’s school.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343. The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon! From the Team at Camp Australia.
