The countdown to our Potato Fair is underway! The Potato Fair event this year will combine our annual Family Dance Night with the re-introduction of our School Fair and will be held on 31st March 2023 from 3.30pm till 7.30pm.
The fair recognises Drysdale’s long history as a potato farming area, and the students, our “Cool Spuds”, are very excited! A shout out to Daniel Lamanna at Stockdale and Leggo Drysdale for being our Major sponsor of the Potato Fair. Thank you to Harris HMC and PFG Financial Services and all the local and small business that have shown support with donations and vouchers.
If you haven’t already ‘liked’ our event page, please do so on Facebook under “Potato Fair” and keep updated with the event details.
This year we are looking at mixing some old-fashioned events such as Potato Sack races, Potato and Spoon races, Potato Lawn Bowls and complimenting them with cake stalls, a second-hand book sale and plant sale. With over 15 local community groups attending and 20 plus small business stallholders, we nearly have a full school oval!
We will have lots of food options for all the family including Twisty Potatoes, Potato Works and our traditional sausage sizzle. Kylie will be opening the school canteen for cold and hot drinks and snacks so please support the canteen and say “hi” on the night! Thanks Kylie!
To embrace Drysdale’s historic railway, a Miniature Train Ride will be available to tour around the oval and our school giving tired legs a rest!
And who can forget the Dunk Tank! Our amazing teachers, including our very own Mitch Sinnott is returning for a guest performance, also to sit in the Hot Seat of the Dunk Tank. A timetable of who will be up and at what time they are being dunked will be announced closer to the event.
Students and families alike will be entertained with Family Dance Night, Face Painting, Animal Petting Zoo, Chair-o-Plane and amazing wildlife presentations and encounters. There is lots to do for everyone!
Don’t forget to get your memorabilia photo with family and friends in the Potato Fair Photo Booth!
To save time queuing on the night, tickets for the kids rides and entertainment will be available prior to and on the night, please keep a look out on how to buy your tickets in the coming days.
A genuine, signed 2022 Premiers Geelong Football Club jumper will be auctioned by Stockdale and Leggo at 6.45pm. You do not want to miss this!
Our Potato Fair will finish with a mini color run from 7pm till 7.30pm on the oval! Such a great night planned!
Our online raffle is now live, including some sensational local prizes with something for everyone! Every ticket purchased will assist with upgrades and enhancements to improving our amazing school. Please consider purchasing a ticket or two. Share the link with friends, families and in your workplaces – Potato Fair Raffle Tickets
Do you have books at home that are in great condition that you no longer need? We are taking donations for our Second-hand Book Sale now! Novels in good condition for all ages welcome! Drop them off to the school during school hours, and Donna or Catherine will show you where to leave them in our new Library!
As with any major school event we need volunteers! This year we need your help more than ever. If everyone can assist in at least ONE timeslot on the evening it would be appreciated. Please sign up by accessing the link below. It’s a great way to help and meet others in your school community! Look forward to seeing you there!
