This year is off to a great start. Classes have worked through the new Start Right program to develop routines, behaviours and expectations and build calm and orderly learning environments. It is great to see the consistent approaches across teams and year levels and seeing students know how to show positive behaviour in class and the yard.
To help support students further with positive choices in the yard, some of our wonderful teaching staff have volunteered to run lunch time activities to help students that need it. These ‘clubs’ started in Week 5 and so far have been a hit, with students joining Mr Field for card games on a Friday or Walk and Talk around the oval on a Tuesday with Mrs Alonso, drawing and colouring in with Mrs Croxford and Mr Kennedy on a Monday or other clubs that have continued from 2020 such as garden club and the library. Student have been very engaged and enjoying the different options through the lunch break. It is hoped that these types of activities will encourage positive choices and reduce incidents in the yard.
