It’s been a great start to the festive season at before and After school care, with children enjoying making all sorts of Christmas crafts. This looks set to continue, with activities such as accordion fold reindeer, snowy north pole paper plates, rustic wooden reindeer, making plant pots into Christmas trees and making our own Christmas cards planned for the coming week.
Thank you to everyone who got involved in the Big Art and expression competition. Unfortunately no-one from Drysdale Primary School made it to the winners list, but after viewing the winning entires the children all agreed that those entries certainly deserved to win.
We are currently in the process of digitising our child enrolment records. Please take this opportunity to ensure all of your details are up to date, including your contact numbers, address and any relevant medical information. Keeping this information up to date and complete is a vital part of the service remaining compliant, and we can no longer just change things on your enrolment form, or add details, such as medicare or ambulance numbers, or doctor’s details and have you initial the change. All changes must be done online through the Camp Australia parent portal. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Although it still doesn’t feel like it, if you haven’t already, it is time to start thinking about your plans for your children for over the Summer school holidays. Bookings are now open for Camp Australia School Holiday programs for over the summer holidays. Holiday club will be open from Monday the 21st of December to Thursday the 24th of December, and then reopens from the 4th of January and running through to the end of the holidays, excluding Weekends and the Australia Day public Holiday. Copies of the program that will be on offer at all Camp Australia Holiday Clubs are now available on the Camp Australia School Holiday Club website, which is www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs. Our closest Holiday Clubs are Ocean Grove Primary School and East Geelong Primary School. In the Geelong area vacation care programs are also located at Fyans Park Primary School, Montpellier Primary School and Geelong Lutheran College. Going away over the summer? Your Camp Australia registration entitles you to using Camp Australia holiday clubs across the country, so if you are away and want a day without the children you can easily book them into the nearest Camp Australia Vacation care to where you are staying, regardless of where in Australia you are..
With Term 4 in progress we need to remind everyone that sun smart hats should be brought to OSHC so that the children can go outside and enjoy the amazing weather we get this time of year at after school care. This is becoming increasingly important as the UV is now higher later into the day.
We have noticed some things about the use of the car park (Stonehouse Place) by parents. Please remember that this is a one way street at all times, not just at pick up and drop of time. Just because there are few or no other cars around, and you are running late for work, or want to get home at the end of the day, you are not supposed to drive into the car park from the Bennett Street end, nor are you legally allowed to exit on the Collins street end. This is a serious safety matter, and a legal issue. Please also be mindful of the speed limit in the car park.
At the point of writing this we have not been informed of any changes to our drop off and pick up procedures in relation to changes in government guidelines and Camp Australia’s Covid safe plan. Parents and Guardians therefore are no longer able to enter the OSHC building. We ask that when you arrive with your child you call the service on 0404 427 452. We will then get your child ready and bring them to the door with their bag. Please be patient, as sometimes they have an activity to pack up before they can go. During the mornings we will meet you at the door, and then accept your child into care.
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall. We open at 7:00 each school day, and children are at 8:50. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00. Families can access the service through the hall glass door that faces out onto Stonehouse Place (tennis courts carpark). At 3:30, children attending after school care walk over to the hall and we provide a safe place for hem to play and engage with other children until they are collected by their parent or other authorised contact. Our closing time is 6:00, please ensure that you have collected your children by then. Late pick up of children may incur additional charges.
Parents please be reminded that in order to use the service they need to be registered with Camp Australia.. We are unable to accept children into the service who are not registered with Camp Australia. It is also the responsibility of parents to ensure that your details remain up to date.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343….. The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon!
From the Team at Camp Australia
