The 2020 DPS School Council met for the first time, virtually, on Tuesday, May 15th. We were able to elect new office bearers and nominate new sub-committee members.
We are pleased to announce Scott Pearson will continue as School Council President, Gary Absolom will was elected Vice President, Julie Penfold will continue as Treasurer and Chris Cawkwell will continue as Secretary. Congratulations and thank you to these dedicated parents for bringing their professional skills to our council and committing another year to support the effective strategic direction of our school.
We are also delighted to meet for the first time new School Council parents: Stephanie Davey, Leanne Sharples, Sandra Jelowyi and staff members: Amy Wright and Kylie King. These new members join continuing members – parents: Scott Pearson, Gary Absolom, Chris Cawkwell, Julie Penfold and Kate Lockhart and staff: Ingrid Orvis. Assistant Principals Kate Wojcik and Nic Alonso and Business Manager Simone Spencer-Gardner are also valuable contributors to our council. The Drysdale Community Market is coordinated by our school each month, this year we are excited to welcome Jac Absolom back to the role of Market Coordinator.
The School Council convenes four sub-committees to streamline discussion and progress across the range of issues council discuss. Any parents/carers interested in joining our school council should contact the school (drysdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au)
