It has been a sad week at OSHC, with Clare leaving the service after over two years. We are very sad to see her go, and we wish her luck with everything.
This week we are celebrating Book week with some activities based on books and book characters being on offer. Last week we marked science week with discussions about science, and a group science experiment which the children really enjoyed. Other popular activities have included soccer, badminton, dancing ribbons, imaginative play and box construction.
We have also commenced our fund-raising activities for this term, with the children being invited to guess how many Marbles, loom bands or perler beads are in the jar. Guesses cost 10 cents, and winners will be announced at the first school assembly for term 4. For every dollar we raise the Camp Australia head office will also contribute a dollar. We would like to thank the Springdale $2+ shop for their donation, and Lenehan & Associates accountants in Belmont for their support.
Parents, please be advised that the way we do the rolls is changing at Before and After School Care. The 21st century has caught up with us and we are now using a tablet to mark the rolls. Please be aware that you need to make sure all of your authorised pick up people are not just on the documentation at the service, but also have been entered through head office. Please ensure that all of your additional contact people are on your records. This can be checked by contacting Camp Australia Head Office on 1300 105 343.
Parents also please be aware that as of the 2nd of July the new Child Care Subsidy from the Australian Government came into affect. If you use the service, regardless of if it is before school care, after school care, or school holiday club, you will need to get in touch with centrelink to check your details are correct, and perhaps add some information due to the changeover to the Child Care Subsidy from the existing Child Care Rebate and the Child Care Benefit if you have not done so already.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, or if it is impractical to do so, through a staff member at OSHC. Where possible bookings and cancellations should be made through the Camp Australia Head Office website https://www.campaustralia.com.au/ or phone number, which is 1300 105 343. This is to ensure that we have adequate numbers of staff present to care for your children, and that we have prepared enough food to go around at snack time.
