Wonder Soft Bread Bag Recycling
Well done to everyone who has been bringing in your plastic bread bags to recycle. Please continue to bring these in as we are almost ready to send off our 2nd 5kg box. Remember for every box we return we earn points that we can redeem for sports equipment, as well as doing a great job for the environment and not allowing all that plastic to go into landfill or into our waterways. Please take your clean plastic bags to the Enviro Hub or to your class teacher.
National World Bee Day
On Friday 19th June students from the Middle and Senior years would have brought home a Bees Wax candle. The Prep and Junior classes participated in reading stories and completed some colouring in around Bees. In all classes we discussed the importance of bees in our environment and what we can do to encourage them to come to our gardens and school yard. It was a great link to World Bee Day on 20/5, and we were excited to connect with a local beekeeper, Coastal Nectar, who provided us with the equipment for the candles and colouring in on the day.
World Environment Day
Monday June 5th – we will be celebrating World Environment Day. All classes will be investigating the focus of #beatplasticpollution and will create a door or hallway display. We encourage all families to come in during next week to look at the displays and promote discussions at home about this issue. Watch the following video as a family to be able to discuss the big issue of plastic pollution and how we can reduce our plastic waste.
