Students in the Middle Years have been working on different activities each week that support practical and community based learning.
We regularly assist in the school veggie garden by helping weed, plant and water our selection of plants, herbs and vegetables. We also made some class scarecrows that are helping keep our veggies safe and free from birds who like to eat them.
We have had Pamela help us to become designers and make garden art and craft. Kylie has shown us how to be a barista and make hot chocolates and teach us about being safe when working in the canteen. The staff at the Drysdale Library have been extremely helpful and have assisted us each week in borrowing books and learning about the amazing new local library.
These activities have given the students an understanding of who works in the community and ideas about some fun and different activities that they may not have ever done before.
If you have any suggestions or skills that you can offer and you have the time to come and share these with our students, we would be very grateful.
Please let the Middle Years team know of your interest.
