There are requirements remaining for parents who wish to enter school buildings. These have been set by the Department of Education and Training as enclosed spaces pose a greater risk than being outside and most primary school students are unvaccinated.
Due to current changes and directions from DET and DHHS you will be required to be fully vaccinated to enter our school buildings. Parents who need to enter a building e.g. to meet a teacher must first have signed in at the Administration Office.
When you enter our office, you will be required to check in using the QR code situated on the reception window/counter. You will also be requested to show proof of your fully vaccinated status. If you have an exemption, evidence of this will be required. Upon departure please return your visitor lanyard to the Administration Office.
Unvaccinated and partially-vaccinated parents/carers will not be able to enter our school buildings under current guidelines.
We also request parents/carers follow all COVID-19 directions including wearing a face mask and not attending the school if you are unwell.
Please be patient with our staff as we all adjust to these new guidelines and requirements. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
To enter DPS buildings:
- All parent visitors must check in at the school’s Administration Office first. DO NOT ENTER CLASSROOMS WITHOUT SIGNING IN AT THE OFFICE,
- Be vaccinated or hold a legal exemption,
- Wear a mask indoors;
- Make a specific arrangement with the teacher to meet before arriving to the school (we recommend contacting your child’s teacher via Sentral to arrange a time to meet)
Checking in involves:
1. Signing in and collecting a visitor lanyard
2. Using the QR code
3. Showing evidence of vaccination or exemption
We are required to record your name, contact number, vaccination status and sight evidence of that status for contact tracing purposes. We are bound by the same privacy requirements for holding this information as we are for holding other contact details associated with your children being enrolled at DPS.
