Thank you to all our students, parents and staff who are working so hard to make the remote learning program successful. I know that there are some families who are thriving and some families who are finding this a huge challenge.
Wherever you and your family are between these two points, we are very grateful for the efforts you are making. This is not easy. I know that from trying to support my own daughter with her remote learning.
We have set up our weekly program to give families some choices by setting out some English and Maths work to be completed and a range of additional work that is optional. If you need support or advice, please contact your child’s teacher through Sentral app, email the school drysdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au or contact me directly philip.dunlop-moore@education.vic.gov.au .
We are approximately half way through the six week period of remote learning. The stage 3 restrictions which include remote learning and stage 4 in Metropolitan Melbourne appear to be having a positive impact on reducing active cases of COVID 19 in Victoria. While there is a strong temptation to relax our commitment to these restrictions, it is important that we continue staying at home, distancing and wearing masks so that we do not end up with a third wave and more periods of remote learning during term 4.
The staff at Drysdale Primary are fully committed to enabling all our students to develop their learning as much as possible. This will be done best if we can have a full term of face to face teaching from October to the end of the year.
