We hope everyone in the Drysdale Primary School community had an enjoyable long weekend. This week at OSHC we will be celebrating all things spooky with some Halloween themed fun. Already our room is looking fantastic with garlands the children have made featuring bats, pumpkins, spiders, ghosts, zombies, vampires and spiderwebs.
In the week commencing Monday November 9th we will be taking part in Camp Australia’s National Your Creative Kids week program. This is a special week filled with activities designed to showcase your children’s creativity and artistic flair.
With Term 4 in progress we need to remind everyone that sun smart hats should be brought to OSHC so that the children can go outside and enjoy the amazing weather we get this time of year at after school care. This is becoming increasingly important as the UV is now higher later into the day.
As many parents have now experienced and discovered, we have had to change our drop off and pick up procedures to be in line with Government regulations and Camp Australia’s Covid Safe Plan. Parents are no longer able to enter the OSHC building. We ask that when you arrive with your child you call the service on 0404 427 452. We will then get your child ready and bring them to the door with their bag. Please be patient, as sometimes they have an activity to pack up before they can go. During the mornings we will meet you at the door, take your child’s temperature and then accept your child into care. During all of this we ask parents to wear their face mask, as the area outside the OSHC door is public property, and unless you fall into a category where masks are not compulsory, you are legally obligated to do so.
In accordance with Camp Australia policy, upon arrival to the service we will checking the temperature of children that are booked in to attend. We ask that, even though parents are no longer physically signing their children into the service (for the time being), they still need to bring their children into the service, instead of just dropping them off at the door and letting them walk into the service alone. This is especially important now because if your child records an elevated temperature of above 37..5 degrees Celsius you will be required to take them back home. Children who record an elevated temperature at the commencement of After School Care will be kept away from everyone else (while still being supervised), and parents will be contacted to collect as soon as possible. Please ensure that your contact details are up to date and that you are always contactable for the safety of your child, and for the safety of others as well.
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall. We open at 7:00 each school day, and children are at 8:50. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00. Families can access the service through the hall glass door that faces out onto Stonehouse Place (tennis courts carpark). At 3:30, children attending after school care walk over to the hall and we provide a safe place for hem to play and engage with other children until they are collected by their parent or other authorised contact. Our closing time is 6:00, please ensure that you have collected your children by then. Late pick up of children may incur additional charges.
Parents please be reminded that in order to use the service they need to be registered with Camp Australia.. We are unable to accept children into the service who are not registered with Camp Australia.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343….. The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon!
