The Department of Education (DET) has allocated all schools in regional Victoria a second pupil free day to be taken this week. In discussion with the Drysdale Primary School Council, we are opting to take this day on Friday. Consequently there will be no on-site supervision nor remote learning contact by teachers on Friday.
While Friday is not the most convenient day for teachers to complete planning for remote learning, we do recognise that this is too short notice for parents accessing on-site supervision tomorrow.
Thank you for your continuing understanding and support of our school as we make this transition back to remote learning.

Families who have paid their child’s 2020 camp deposit have now received a credit on their family statement. All payments made toward camp in 2020 will be carried forward as a credit on your family statement and can be allocated to your child’s camp or other charges in 2021.
Parents also have the option to be refunded if requested. Those families requiring a refund should contact the school via email drysdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au. Families of Year 6 students who have any unused payments will be refunded at the end of the school year.
Please be aware that families who have allocated their CSEF to this charge are eligible for a CSEF CREDIT ONLY on account, refund option is not available. The CSEF credit may be used toward any future excursion / activity and will be carried forward to 2021. Any remaining CSEF will be forwarded to secondary schools for Year 6 students at the end of the school year.

This week we saw some amazing Indonesian learning by Jayden, Lucy, Jack and Ryan. All these students shared their work around telling the time in Indonesian and connecting it to what their friends may be doing at that time.
Take care of yourselves and hopefully we will see you all as soon as possible.

Halo semua,
The VILTA Primary Writing Competition was held at the end of Term 2. I would like to congratulate the students who had their work chosen to be submitted for this competition including:
Leia – Prep, Izzy – Year 1, Zack- Year 4 and Lily- Year 6.
The students were given the opportunity to share Indonesian words and phrases in a specific format including a poster, a small book and a diary. Lily won first prize in the Diary Writing Entry category and Zack received runners up in the Story Book category. It was wonderful to see the creativity shown by all the students and their enjoyment when completing this task.
Terima kasih,
Bu Hurt

While many of us have been expecting it for some time, the Victorian Governments announcement on Sunday about schools once again going into remote learning. While we were able to operate during last lockdown there are different things to factor in this time beyond our control.
If we do end up running the service will only be accepting children of essential workers who are also attending the supervised classroom at the school to do their remote learning. Parents please remember that if your child is no longer requiring care please ensure you cancel your bookings as soon as possible. The free child care program used by the Federal Government during the last lock down no longer applies, so you will be charged, regardless of whether or not your child attends if their bookings are not cancelled.
