Well done to all those that have completed the Reading Challenge. To date we have about 290 students finished which is a huge effort. It would be an even better achievement to have over 300 students complete it. If you are someone who has not yet logged your books in, you still have until Monday September 4th to do this. If you require your username and password, either your class teacher or Miss Daffy would be happy to supply this for you. Fantastic work readers and keep up the great job!

On Friday the 11th of August the Year 3’s got their ‘Science on’ and went to Scienceworks as a part of their Inquiry unit ‘There’s no place like space’.
They are learning about the Earths tilt so they headed into the Planetarium. This show is amazing and so relevant to what they need to know. All students and adults were highly entertained and so impressed by this show and the engaging activities that were in the open area to explore.
We had a great day and more memories were made!

Our Term 3 Parent Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Monday 11th September 3.45–5.05pm and Tuesday 12th September 3.45–6.45pm.
This is an important part of our reporting processes through which we formally let you know how well your children are doing in school.
The booking system opens Friday 18th August, at 9am. The ‘parent portal’ can be accessed by clicking here. The portal will close Friday 8th September at 5.00pm.
Parent teacher interviews take place in Terms 1 and 3 with written reports in Terms 2 and 4. This is a great chance to find out how you child is doing and what they will be working on next in their learning. It is also a great opportunity to raise any concerns you might have. We are looking forward to meeting up with everyone over those evenings.
New families to the school should have now received a letter home with details on how to register to access our parent portal.

Even though we request parent volunteers from a year level each week, if you have time to spare on a Friday morning we would love your help. We have a couple of parents who volunteer every Friday that would love some help.
This Friday, 1st September, we are asking for parent volunteers of Year 6 students to help cut up fruit. If you can assist, please sign in at the office and come to the staff room at 9am.
Thank you to the Bendigo Bank for sponsoring our school’s fresh fruit.

It has been a great week this past week at OSHC, with lots of different things going on. Paper planes have been immensely popular this week, with the children organising competitions between themselves, developing leadership and teaching skills, as well as problem solving and board games such as monopoly, connect 4, mazes, word-searches and making complicated domino tracks. Perler beads have also been popular this week, with some of the children making little Pokemon creatures using templates.
