The Year 3 and 4 children were very fortunate to have the Geelong Cats come out to our school to talk to them about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. In particular, they addressed the issues around physical activity, food and nutrition, hydration and screen time. We felt even more lucky in that we got two senior players, George Horlin-Smith and Patrick Dangerfield attending (which also meant there were a lot more staff who happened to appear in the hall at the same time!).
Some kids were even lucky enough to get an autograph. All in all, it was a great opportunity to hear from elite athletes about the importance of being healthy and active.
The Cats came and it was awesome because it was Patrick Dangerfield and Patrick Dangerfield is awesome.
It was interesting having the Cats players come to school because we usually don’t get to see them in person. It was fun to do the warm ups rather than just sitting and listening.
It was nice meeting the players and really fun. I recommend it for you people out there.
