Each year around this time schools receive a range of data sets to help identify strengths and areas for further development. There were some very pleasing highlights in ours that reflect our strong performance in a broad range of indicators i.e. both academic and social.
• 87% of parents were positive about what Drysdale Primary offers their children – higher than the percentage for parents in all schools in Victoria.
• The percentages of our students reaching the top two levels for Reading in NAPLAN in both Year 3 and Year 5 were above the percentages for similar schools.
• The improvement made by our children between Year 3 and Year 5 in NAPLAN in Reading and Maths was much greater than the results for students in similar schools.
• Our students identified our high expectations for success, our inclusive practices and our effective management of behaviour as our strengths – all well above results for all schools in Victoria.
This is a fantastic reflection of the commitment of children, staff and families to ensuring that Drysdale Primary is a great place for primary education.
