On a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon last week, Drysdale Primary School were invited to enter a team of teachers and students to compete in a longest drive competition against Clifton Springs Primary School.
Mr Burnie, Mr Bruns, Mr Sinnott and Mr Kennedy were joined by Koby, Ashton, Jett and Ethan from Year 6 as we took on our neighbours. It was wonderful to see a number of other teachers and students from both schools coming along to support their teams. We even had a Drysdale PS legend in Mr Page stop by to give us his support!
Each player hit five drives and their longest drive was added to the team’s total. Despite some terrific hitting from our team, Clifton Springs PS were too good on the day and were worthy winners of the inaugural trophy.
Overall, it was a fantastic event and our students loved the chance to rub shoulders with some celebrities who also came along. A few teachers will be hitting the driving range over the next 12 months to improve their contribution to the team in readiness for next year’s event.
