Week 5 already!!!!
Thanks to all of our families who again supported our students through lockdown 3.0!
As always, if you or your child requires any further support, please contact the school and one of us will be in touch with you.
Our 2021 Lunch Clubs are up and running supported by our staff who are volunteering some of their lunchtimes. These clubs will provide another focus for play and another layer of support and engagement for students. Students can choose to attend these and there are some great choices on offer! The content of these will alter as the year progresses and the weather changes!
The High Abilities program has also begun. A big thanks to Mrs Croxford for supporting this. Participants this week were learning about Egyptian and Chinese numerals.
Our Prep students and teachers have completed their Maths and English Online Interview assessments and the data is now being used to guide the teaching and learning for those students. Thanks to our families for bringing in students for their interviews.
Miley from Year 6 has been working hard on her Narrative writing titled ‘The Wolves.’ Miley has added in so many adjectives that when we listened to her read it, we felt like we were there! Well done Miley.
We have upcoming dates for Riding for the Disabled. This is a long term partnership between us and RDA and we will have 4 very excited students attending this valuable program in 2021!
DPS hosted the DET ‘Professional Learning Community’ training with some other schools from across the region attending. DPS implemented PLCs in 2018 and It is has been fabulous to revisit this model and see our teaching teams further target and guide teaching and learning collaboratively at DPS.
