The House Cup Competition has been fiercely contested in and out of the classrooms. It has been a great opportunity for some friendly rivalry among the Year 6s and there is a definite sense of the House spirit building.
Our House Basketball tournament was extremely popular with some wonderful performances from students who would not usually play much basketball. The finals were played in front of enthusiastic crowds and it was great to see the success shared around the Houses. Results of the finals were:
Girls Basketball – McLeod def Davis
Boys Basketball – Dan Dan Nook def Bengalat
Mixed Basketball – Bengalat def McLeod
In the end, McLeod were awarded the shield on a countback decision over Bengalat (based on the number of goals scored through the tournament).
We have now moved onto a Dodgeball Tournament, the final shield event for the year. The preliminary games have been played and the finals for each of the pools will be run this week.
Another highlight of the past week was Mr Field’s Newspaper Fashion Show. There were certainly some interesting designs and some even more interesting acting out on the catwalk.
