We hope that all the dads, grand dads, step dads, uncles, mums that are both mum and dad, and all the other significant people within the Drysdale Primary School community had a fantastic Father’s day.
It’s been another quiet, but fun week at OSHC. The children have been greatly enjoying engaging in activities such as pom pom making, sprouts, tennis, soccer, active games, building towers, making father’s day presents, planting seeds, making up challenges for themselves and just enjoying in the company of others.
While it might not feel like it, with the ongoing lockdown, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming school holidays. School Holiday club bookings are now open, with care being offered at Ocean Grove Primary School, East Geelong Primary School, Fyans Park Primary School, Montpellier Primary School and Geelong Lutheran College.
This Spring, Holiday Club returns with an exciting program that puts an emphasis on reconnecting friendships and helping children forge new ones. It gives you a chance to have some much-needed rest, while having that peace of mind that your children will be engaged and connected in a safe space. With engaging activities there is something for everyone and educators will do all they can to ensure that your children have a great holiday break. To find out what these activities are and when they are happening at your preferred holiday club location during the school holidays and to find your nearest service, visit: www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs.
Parents please remember that if your child is no longer requiring care please ensure you cancel your bookings as soon as possible. The free child care program implemented by the Federal Government during the last lockdown no longer applies, so you will be charged, regardless of whether or not your child attends if their bookings are not cancelled.
We hope that the entire Drysdale Primary School community stays safe and well through these challenging times, and that everyone stays positive. Hopefully this time apart passes quickly and smoothly and we will all be able to be together again soon.
In accordance with Camp Australia policy, upon arrival to the surface we will checking the temperature of children that are booked in to attend. We ask that, even though parents are no longer physically signing their children into the service (for the time being), they still need to bring their children into the service, instead of just dropping them off at the door and letting them walk into the service alone. This is especially important now because if your child records an elevated temperature of above 37.5 degrees Celsius you will be required to take them back home. Children who record an elevated temperature at the commencement of After School Care will be kept away from everyone else (while still being supervised), and parents will be contacted to collect as soon as possible. Please ensure that your contact details are up to date and that you are always contactable for the safety of your child, and for the safety of others as well.
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall. We open at 7:00 each school day, and currently we are walking the group over to their assigned classroom at 8:50. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00. Families can access the service through the hall glass door that faces out onto Stonehouse Place (tennis courts carpark).
At 3:30, children attending after school care will be collected from their designated classroom and we provide a safe place for them to play and engage with other children until they are collected. Our closing time is 6:00, please ensure that you have collected your children by then. Late pick up of children may incur additional charges.
Parents please be reminded that in order to use the service they need to be registered with Camp Australia. We are unable to accept children into the service who are not registered with Camp Australia.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343…. The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon!
From the Team at Camp Australia
