Despite the challenging times everyone is going through we are still managing to have some laughs at OSHC, whether it be sharing some jokes during snack time, or enjoying a good game of Uno or Connect 4. The children who are still attending OSHC have been especially enjoying participating in wool craft this past week.
Our apologies for the uncertainty of last weeks Newsletter article. At the time of newsletters being submitted we honestly weren’t quite sure what was going on. Now it seems likely that OSHC will continue to operate our normal hours for children of essential workers who are also attending the supervised classroom at the school to do their remote learning, if needed. Parents please remember that if your child is no longer requiring care please ensure you cancel your bookings as soon as possible.
The free child care program implemented by the Federal Government during the last lockdown no longer applies, so you will be charged, regardless of whether or not your child attends if their bookings are not cancelled.
We hope that the entire Drysdale Primary School community stays safe and well through these challenging times, and that everyone stays positive. Hopefully this time apart passes quickly and smoothly and we will all be able to be together again soon.
In accordance with Camp Australia policy, upon arrival to the surface we will checking the temperature of children that are booked in to attend. We ask that, even though parents are no longer physically signing their children into the service (for the time being), they still need to bring their children into the service, instead of just dropping them off at the door and letting them walk into the service alone. This is especially important now because if your child records an elevated temperature of above 37.5 degrees Celsius you will be required to take them back home. Children who record an elevated temperature at the commencement of After School Care will be kept away from everyone else (while still being supervised), and parents will be contacted to collect as soon as possible. Please ensure that your contact details are up to date and that you are always contactable for the safety of your child, and for the safety of others as well.
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall. We open at 7:00 each school day, and currently we are walking the group over to their assigned classroom at 8:50. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00. Families can access the service through the hall glass door that faces out onto Stonehouse Place (tennis courts carpark).
At 3:30, children attending after school care will be collected from their designated classroom and we provide a safe place for them to play and engage with other children until they are collected. Our closing time is 6:00, please ensure that you have collected your children by then. Late pick up of children may incur additional charges.
Parents please be reminded that in order to use the service they need to be registered with Camp Australia.. We are unable to accept children into the service who are not registered with Camp Australia.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343… The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon!
