It has been a fun, albeit short week at OSHC. Popular activities have included Perler beads, loom bands, active games, cooking, lego construction and drawing activities.
This week we will be celebrating all things spooky, with costume making, pumpkin lanterns and 3D paper pumpkins, in addition to Checkers tournaments, Sprouts games, and Gaga ball games.
If you are going to need you child booked in on Melbourne cup day (Tuesday 5th November ) please log onto the Camp Australia website and double check your bookings, as the roles on this day were originally closed and now they are re-opened the normal ongoing bookings for a Tuesday have not transferred over.
With the arrival of term 4 we need to remind everyone that sun smart hats should be brought to OSHC so that the children can go outside and enjoy the amazing weather we get this time of year at after school care. This is becoming increasingly important as the UV is now higher later into the day.
In a few weeks time, from the 11th to the 15th of November, we will be running our special recycling week program. Keep your eyes open for our special promotional posters and the program we have developed for that week focused on recycling and sustainability.
We also need to remind parents that, with school camps coming up, children who are attending camp need to have their OSHC bookings cancelled while they away to avoid parents being charged. For most parents these cancellations need to happen a week in advance in order to avoid being charged.
Bookings are now open for Camp Australia School Holiday programs for over the summer holidays. Holiday club is now being offered on the 23rd and 24th of December, before being closed between Christmas and New Years Day, re-opening on the 2nd of January, and running through till 24th January. Copies of the program that will be on offer at our two closest Holiday Clubs, Ocean Grove Primary School and Geelong East Primary School, are now available on the Camp Australia School Holiday Club website, which is www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs. If these locations do not suit your family’s needs, then programs are also located at Fyans Park Primary School, Montpellier Primary School and Geelong Lutheran College.
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall, We open at 7:00 each school day, and send the children off at 8:50, when the teachers are scheduled to commence their yard duty. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00. At 3:30, once the school bell goes, children attending after school care walk over to the hall from their classrooms, with preps being picked up from their classrooms and we provide a safe place for them to play and engage with other children until they are collected. Our closing time is 6:00. For more information on our service and fees, you may visit our website www.campaustralia.com.au. If you prefer to speak to us, you can contact our friendly Customer Care Team that is available to support our families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – except for National Public Holidays. Alternatively, you’re welcome to visit us in service and chat with our qualified Educators about the Camp Australia program at your child’s school.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343. The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon! From the Team at Camp Australia.
