The visitors continue to arrive at the Principal door! Always the highlight of my day, read below to hear about the fabulous learning happening in our school this week…
- Jesse from Year 3 came to visit to share his success at the District Aths. Jesse came 1st in the 100m, 1st in the Long Jump and 2nd in Shot Put.
- Kate from Prep shared her Student Led Conference (SLC) with me. Kate read ‘Barn Dance’ to me, an unseen book! The book was all about a silly frog. Kate’s favourite thing to do in prep is to dance!
- Ruby from Year 1 shared her SLC with me. Ruby really impressed with me with her enthusiasm for learning and excitement for school. Keep up the great attitude Ruby!
- Jagger from Year 1 shared his SLC with me. Jagger shared a published writing piece with me that was all about the cricket. It has excellent structure and read very well!
- Simranpreet from Year 1 shared his SLC with me. He showed his family, Ms. Behncke and I how well he could count using his ‘Counting Caterpillar’ strategies. We were all very impressed.
- Kenzie from Prep shared her writing with me from her SLC book. She showed me that she can write her lowercase letters correctly on the dotted thirds. Her favourite things to do in prep are concert and Indonesian.
- Hollie from Year 6 shared her SLC with me. She is really proud of her debate on ‘We should fix Earth’s problems rather than moving to Mars’ (arguing for the affirmative). Hollie won best speaker for her role in this debate. Hollie also shared her story ‘The Better Life’ told from the perspective of a boy having challenges during the time of the Industrial Revolution. I was so lucky as I got my own copy of the story to keep!
- Denham from Year 6 shared his SLC with me. I was very impressed with his reflections on school and his personal growth this semester. Keep up this brilliant attitude Denham, what a great role model you are for others.
- Lexi from Year 6 shared her SLC with me. Lexi spoke to me with great confidence, giving me good eye contact and responding thoughtfully to all my questions. Well done Lexi!
