As a school, we have had a terrific start to week 9! At our whole school assembly on Monday there was much to celebrate. Riley from Prep had a huge impact on the assembly, sharing his recent ‘Make a Wish’ adventure. Riley shared some incredible pictures with us, showing the journey he took to Adelaide to meet his team, the Adelaide Crows. Riley got to meet the players and even have a kick with them! After that, Riley went to the zoo and got up close with all of the animals before returning to the football ground to see the Crows play. Thankfully the Crows came through with a win that night. Riley wanted to thank the ‘Make a Wish’ Foundation for giving him this incredible opportunity. I would like to thank Riley for his amazing presentation also – role models come in all shapes and sizes in our school and Riley showed us that you don’t have to be in Year 6 to be a leader in the school! Well done Riley, your resilience, courage and, optimism is an inspiration to us all.
We also recognised five of our students who were part of the winning Drysdale u/13s football team who won their Grand Final by 1 point against Colac! Many congratulations to Hayden, Archer, Oscar and Cohen from Year 6 and James from Year 5. An amazing achievement! Samuel from Prep also had some medals to show the assembly on Monday. He had success in a karate competition over the weekend, getting two medals for his performance in sword combat and sumo! Well done Samuel!
Finally, well done to Ivy from Year 2 who took part in the ‘MS Readathon’ in August. Ivy read 24 books and raised $124 for MS Camps to help families impacted by multiple sclerosis. Well done Ivy, you are a superstar!
