It has been another fun filled week at OSHC. We celebrated Reconciliation week with decorating Aboriginal flags, sharing dream-time stories, making wool turtles and making our own rainbow serpents. The highlight for the children was getting to make and eat damper on Friday. For many of them it was the first time they had eaten damper, and they experimented with putting different things on it, such as honey or Vegemite. How much more Australian can you get…Vegemite on Damper. Yum.
This week children will have the opportunity to write pen pal letters and cards to a child who used to attend this service and has moved schools, as well as explore with kinetic sand, make things with the Perler Beads, do watercolour drawings, participate in checkers and UNO tournaments, and build things with LEGO and the zoobs.
Before and After School Care will be closed on Monday and Tuesday of next week (the 10th and 11th of June) due to the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday and the Pupil Free day. We will reopen as normal on Wednesday the 12th of June.
With the term quickly progressing it is time to start thinking about School Holiday Program. The theme for these holidays is Wonders of the World, which offers a journey through international cultures, cuisines, sports and creations. Bookings for Camp Australia’s Holiday Clubs are now open. Copies of the program that will be on offer at our two closest Holiday Clubs, Ocean Grove Primary School and Geelong East Primary School, are now available at the service, and are also on the Camp Australia School Holiday Club website, which is www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs
OSHC at Drysdale Primary School operates out of the School hall, we open at 7:00am each school day, and send the children off at 8:50am. Unfortunately we are unable to accept children into our care earlier than 7:00am. At 3:30pm, once the school bell goes, children attending after school care walk over to the hall from their classrooms, with Preps being picked up from their classrooms and we provide a safe place for them to play and engage with other children until they are collected. Our closing time is 6:00pm. For more information on our service and fees, you may visit our website www.campaustralia.com.au. If you prefer to speak to us, you can contact our friendly Customer Care Team that is available to support our families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – except for National Public Holidays. Alternatively, you’re welcome to visit us in service and chat with our qualified Educators about the Camp Australia program at your child’s school.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, and that should you need to cancel their booking please can this be done through head office as well. This works out much cheaper for you, as there are additional fees involved if children do not attend sessions they are booked in for. Bookings can be made or cancelled by logging into the Camp Australia website https://www.campaustralia.com.au or by ringing 1300 105 343. The team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except National Public Holidays).
We look forward to seeing you and your family soon! From the Team at Camp Australia.
