There will be two open classroom times during Education Week. These will be on Monday at 9:50a. immediately after the special assembly and at 2:40pm on Wednesday afternoon. You don’t need to be a trained parent helper to join in these sessions, this is an opportunity for all parents, grandparents, carers and guardians to come into classrooms and join in the learning with the students. The intention is not that this is a practiced performance but that it is an example of what you might normally see happening at these times. If you are intending to visit, please sign in at the office on arrival so that we have a record of who is on site. Everyone is welcome; we look forward to seeing lots of you for these events.
Next Wednesday at 11:10am as a part of our Education Week celebrations, DPS will be participating in the “National Simultaneous Storytime” which is extremely exciting!
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country at the same time!
The chosen picture book this year is “Alpacas with Maracas” written by Matt Cosgrove.
