On Thursday the 2nd of May the Year 5 students enjoyed an excursion to Melbourne to support their learning of their Big Idea ‘The World’s Geography has an impact on the Reciprocal Relationship between Man and Earth’.
They began with a walking tour of Melbourne which included historical sites and more modern structures such as Federation Square. They also enjoyed a very informative IMAX movie on the forces of Earth.
We had a fabulous day!
I learnt that Melbourne was voted 7 times most liveable city in the world. Melbourne has 137 different cultures. – Zahlia
Federation square is in the middle of Melbourne City and the floor is made of shells. – Ashlin
Kirsty MacKenzie came up with ‘Good 2 Go’ that is a coffee shop that allows you to buy a coffee for yourself and a homeless person. It is located in Hosier Lane. – Sienna
When we went to IMAX theatre I learnt that the Monserrat volcano had lots of eruptions that affected the town of Plymouth in 1995. – Dylan
