Our wonderful Girls Tee Ball team headed off to Mt Waverley last week to compete in the State Finals.
They continue a long tradition of Tee Ball success here at Drysdale Primary School, particularly with the girls, under the expert tutelage of Supercoach, Mrs Croxford. This is the second year in succession our girls have participated in the State Finals, which is made even more remarkable when you factor in how few of our players play softball or baseball outside of school.
Once again, we were commended on how well our team handled themselves against some very difficult opposition. Despite the scoreline, our girls smiled their way through their matches and genuinely enjoyed their experience.
The team would not have been able to progress this far without the dedication of Mrs Croxford, who gave up weeks and weeks worth of lunchtimes to help develop each players’ skills. There was also a significant amount of logistics that needed to be taken care of to allow the girls to play each round. We were also very fortunate to have David and Carmel from the Geelong Softball Association who came out to Drysdale to take a number of training sessions.
“Thank you Mrs Croxford for putting in all the time and effort. We couldn’t have gone this far without you. The whole team really appreciates you.” Alicia (Year 6)
“Thank you Mrs Croxford for putting in all the effort you did coaching us. We all loved to keep playing because of you.” Beth (Year 6)
“Mrs Croxford, you are a miracle worker. I didn’t even know what Tee-ball was at the start of this year! You’ve brought everyone so far. Your incredible work does not go unnoticed, believe me. (I’m glad you liked the cordial!)” Alice (Year 6)
