Yesterday the teaching staff spent the day extending their skills of questioning, reflection and metacognition. This day was led by Dr. Jeni Wilson Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne who is one of Australia’s leading exponents of an Inquiry Learning Approach. Over the last couple of years we have introduced an Inquiry Learning program and developed skills in teaching the required curriculum content. Dr. Wilson helped us to understand how to deepen our skills in supporting the children’s research skills and their individual understanding of how they learn and how they can learn more effectively. This is really important for helping our academically gifted children stretch their abilities as well as ensuring that children who find learning harder are able to make the most of their learning.
