We hope everyone has had an enjoyable and relaxing long weekend, and everyone is ready for the last few weeks at school.
This past week at OSHC have been busy, with lots going on. The children have been loving building structures using Jenga blocks (including an amazing model of the Colosseum), dancing, playing cricket, soccer and tennis, Uno, Chess, using hoola hoops and skipping, making Perler bead pictures and doing drawings of their favourite foods.
Parents, please be aware that there has been a change to the bookings structure at Camp Australia. This may result in a change in the amount you are paying to use the service, if you have any questions go to https://www.campaustralia.com.au/flexibility or call 1300 105 343. The most notable change is the additional fees you will be charged if your child
- does not attend the service on a day when they were booked in without being cancelled through the Camp Australia head office (cancellations made through us at the service do not count in terms of this.)
- does attend the service on a day when they are not booked in through the Camp Autralia Head Office (bookings and cancellations made through us at the service do not count in terms of this)
- was booked in late through Head Office (less than 48 hours prior to sessions – if you have a Gold level membership this will not apply).
Depending on your membership level these fees range from between $10 to $20 per child per session. If you need to pick up your child from school on a day when they are booked in we STRONGLY advise that you walk them to OSHC, we will sign them in, you can sign them out, and you can continue on. By doing this you will avoid paying these excess fees. There are flyers available at OSHC with more information.
From this week, the majority of our Prep students attending Before School Care will be able to choose to walk over to their classrooms on their own if they want to, however we will continue to pick up all prep children from their classrooms until at least mid way through term three. This develops the children’s independence, and is accordance with Camp Australia’s policy, which states that All prep students must be dropped off and collected from classrooms for the first six weeks of school, but past this point it is up to individual service’s discretion.
With School Holidays fast approaching, school holiday clubs are opening up. These holidays there will be holiday programs running at Ocean Grove Primary School, Geelong East Primary School, Clairvaux Catholic Primary School, Montpellier Primary School and Fyans Park Primary School. Bookings can be made via https://www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs
Could parents please remember that we are legally not allowed to accept children into our care before 7:00 am, as before this time we are still setting up and getting everything organised for the session of before school care. Also, please remember that the official closing time for the service is 6:00 pm. Parents who pick their children after this time will incur a late fee. If you are running late and are not going to make it back to the service by 6:00 please contact us on 0404 427 452. If you don’t and it gets past 6:00 we will start calling people to find out what is going on. If we are unable to contact anyone, then, according to Camp Australia policy, the police may be contacted.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia head office, or if it is impractical to do so, through a staff member at OSHC. Where possible bookings and cancellations should be made through the Camp Australia Head Office website https://www.campaustralia.com.au/ or phone number, which is 1300 105 343. This is to ensure that we have adequate numbers of staff present to care for your children, and that we have prepared enough food to go around at snack time.
