Well, here we are, now in the second half of the term and things have been going great at Camp Australia Drysdale Primary School.
Popular activities have included animal pictures, Anime drawing, updating our medal tally, keepers off, soccer, basketball, practising gymnastic skills, discussing the winter Olympics and Chinese New Year, as well as Guess Who, Trouble, Chess, Uno and Jenga. We have been doing some researching regarding the height of the tallest man alive, and then we measured how tall that was, which led to some shock from the children when they saw how tall this person was. Some of our older students have been involved in a discussion about what high school they were planning on attending, with lots of different responses being given.
With school holidays fast approaching, school holiday clubs are opening up. This set of holidays there will be holiday programs running at Ocean Grove Primary School, Geelong East Primary School, Clairvaux Catholic Primary School, Montpellier Primary School and Fyans Park Primary School. Bookings can be made via https://www.campaustralia.com.au/holidayclubs
Parents, please be aware that there has been a change to the bookings structure at Camp Australia. This may result in a change in the amount you are paying to use the service. If you have any questions go to https://www.campaustralia.com.au/flexibility or call 1300 105 343.
Could parents please remember that we are legally not allowed to accept children into our care before 7:00am, as before this time we are still setting up and getting everything organised for the session of before school care. Also, please remember that the official closing time for the service is 6:00pm. Parents who pick their children after this time will incur a late fee. If you are running late and are not going to make it back to the service by 6:00pm please contact us on 0404 427 452. If you don’t and it gets past 6:00pm we will start calling people to find out what is going on. If we are unable to contact anyone, then, according to Camp Australia policy, the police may be contacted.
A friendly reminder for parents that for staffing and catering purposes children should be booked into OSHC through the Camp Australia Head office, or if it is impractical to do so, through a staff member at OSHC. Where possible bookings and cancellations should be made through the Camp Australia Head Office website https://www.campaustralia.com.au/ or phone number, which is 1300 105 343. This is to ensure that we have adequate numbers of staff present to care for your children, and that we have prepared enough food to go around at snack time.
In related news, could parents be sure to notify OSHC directly, or the Camp Australia Head Office, if your child will not be attending a session they are booked in for. This helps streamline the session for everyone else as we are not spending time trying to track down children who are not actually coming. This includes days when your child is absent from school for whatever reason. The Camp Australia Drysdale Primary School OSHC mobile number is 0404 427 452.
