Our School Council consists of eight parent representatives and four staff representatives plus the Principal. Each year four parents and two staff members finish their two year term. I am seeking nominations from at least four parents interested in joining the school council. If you might be interested in this opportunity please collect a nominations form from the school office.
These forms need to be returned to the school office by 9 a.m on Tuesday February 20th. If there are more than four valid nominations received by this time and day, there will be an election to determine the four successful nominees. New School Councillors will begin their term of office from the March meeting which is due to be held on the evening of Tuesday March 20th immediately following the school’s AGM.
I would like to record my appreciation and thanks to the three parent School Councillors, Scott Pearson, Tammy Burke, Sue Harmer, and two staff School Councillors, Shane Kennedy and Rebecca Hoyne, whose terms finish after the School Council AGM. During their last two year term Scott has been the School Council President and Tammy has been the School Council Vice President. I am particularly grateful to both of them for the measured and wise advice they provide, their dedication to the school and the time they have devoted to these roles. In 2017 there was the additional task of our four yearly external review and the associated work creating a new four year strategic plan.
All our School Councillors, parents and staff, undertake their role voluntarily. It is a mark of the community’s investment in the continuing success of Drysdale Primary School that we have such a strong group providing additional leadership to our school.
