The last couple of class teaching appointments are due to be made on Thursday, so information should be available in these year group next week. An appointment to the vacant art position is due to be made before the end of term.
There are some other changes that have been forced upon us by a range of factors. For the last two years we have been a Maths and Science Specialist School this has created two job shares for our specialist teachers Kellie Thomas and Simone George. Both are returning full time to the classroom as we have reached the end of this program. Consequently Denise McPhee and Victoria Miller will be leaving us in December. We are also welcoming back to school a number of people from their family leave. Denise Dean and Rachel Bright are returning full time from the beginning of term 1. Danielle Thompson is returning full time from the beginning of term 2 with Wendy Butteriss continuing to share the class with her until Easter. Tara van Winkel and Andy Thornton are formally returning from their family leave and sharing one of the year 3 classes. One effect of this is a sharp reduction in the number of job share classes. However it does also mean that we have to say goodbye to those teachers who have been covering the family leave absences: Jess Fatone and Melissa Larcombe. Steff McGeorge has ben offered a specialist position at Furlong Park School for Deaf Children in Melbourne and will be away from Drysdale during 2018. Carolyn Scott has been covering the extra class created by the large number of children in current year 6. With their departure she is also leaving Drysdale Primary. Mitch Sinnott is returning from his year of sabbatical leave meaning that Chris Lourie is also departing. Joanne Black’s secondment as Acting Principal at Oberon South finishes at the end of this term, consequently Carole Dunlop-Moore is also leaving.
