We have been so proud of our school community during the first week back at school. Wednesday was a highlight to welcome our new Foundation students and families, and it has been great to see them settle into their class-based routines.
We hope that our school community have managed to have a restful holiday break, and we hope that you had the opportunity to spend some quality time together making some lifelong memories – it has been fantastic to hear so many amazing stories over the first few days from students.
It has been great to see our students and staff settle in well to the start the school year with a large focus on our STARTING RIGHT program.
It has been fantastic to see students working towards, discussing and exhibiting our school values.
This program is supported by the following aspects of our curriculum:
• Teaching & Learning program (especially the capabilities aspects of the curriculum)
• Behavioural Curriculum
• Social and Emotional Learning Program
• School Values system
• Zones of Regulation
We would also like to welcome our new families to the DPS community, and we hope that you have all settled in well.
We hope that you take the time to engage with our newsletter content throughout the year as it is a great place to access the logistics of school, what is happening in the classrooms, how we can support student wellbeing and inclusion, what we are working towards as a school and community and celebrate the many achievements throughout a fortnight.
We wish you all the best for the year ahead!
Glen Lauder

A huge thank you to DPS parents, Grant and Arley Simpson, of GT Simpson Builders, who have donated a large amount of landscaping supplies to the school.
These supplies will help improve the school grounds. We would also like to say a thank you to Grant and his father for donating their time, and an excavator, to dig out paths near the Foundation building and the staff room.
Over the break maintenance upgrade works started, we would like to thank our school community for their patience as these are being completed.
Hopefully the ramps upgrades will be finished in the next couple of weeks, and it will be easier to move around the school.
