Drysdale Primary School

Semester 1 Reports

Semester 1 reports will be released via the school’s Sentral portal Wednesday 22 June 2022.

Teachers have worked hard to create reports that are personal to each student.

We hope that you enjoy reading them as much as the Principal team have enjoyed reading the drafts. Please note that the detail of each student’s curriculum knowledge can be found in the Continuum Tracker which should be read in conjunction with the end of semester report.

The Continuum Tracker information is available through Sentral portal from Wednesday 22 June to the end of July.

School Leaders Badge Presentation

Last Friday we presented our student leaders with their badges for 2022. It was a little unusual to be doing this in the middle of the year.

But we were very keen to do this when parents were able to join us to celebrate the contributions our student leaders make to the running of the school. I would like to acknowledge the quality of leadership shown by our students and to thank all our leaders for making Drysdale Primary School such a successful and inclusive school.

Sustainability News

I am very pleased to announce that we have been successful with our application for a 2022 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant for our project, Feed the Earth!

Adam from Woolworths attended assembly on Friday 17 June to present the certificate to the school.

The aim of our project is to develop sustainable and productive worm farms throughout our school garden to effectively reduce our organic waste. All students will have the opportunity to be involved in learning about and maintaining the worm farms, while developing gardening skills, empathy and being active members of the community.

Drysdale Primary School is one of 1,054 primary schools and early learning centres throughout Australia receiving a Woolworths Junior Landcare grant to help grow our next generation of environmental champions.

A BIG thank you to Drysdale Woolworths for their amazing donation of compostable organic bags. We really appreciate the support you are showing us towards our composting program here at Drysdale Primary School.

Camp Australia

On Sunday 19th June Drysdale Primary School was represented by Kyan and Hudson at our Regional competition of the Camp Australia National handball competition in Melton. Both boys competed well, and enjoyed the experience, commenting on how much they learned from the other competitors on the day. As a bonus, they were both, along with Charlie, on TV during the Channel 9 news on Sunday night (during a story about Carlton AFL footballer Mitch McGovern). There were not many children whose faces were clearly visible during the broadcast, and the fact that three of them were from Drysdale was amazing.
