Drysdale Primary School

The AP WrAP

As you can see from our new photograph, we are also busy completing our work online! We thought we would send a picture of us in our masks so you can see what we look like!

Week 6 and there are some exciting things happening for National Science Week. We would love to see what you have been doing at home. Please send through and share what you have done for science week to the school email address. drysdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Headspace have provided a flyer for families with students aged over 12 who may be finding Remote Learning a challenge. The flyer depicts different ways you can get in touch with Headspace and access some of their services. As always, if you or your family require any extra support, please contact the school.

Last week we attached the Smiling Minds module 1. This week we have attached the module 2 set.

Please continue to touch base with your child’s teacher, and us if you require any further support!

It has been so fabulous to hear about the learning being completed and being uploaded each day through Sentral.

Take care of each other.

Cyber Cats for Parents

The Geelong Football Club has teamed up with Deakin University, Headspace Geelong, Victoria Police and Barwon Child Youth and Family to deliver a program called ‘Cyber Cats’ that addresses the need to keep our children safe online.

Typically, the program is delivered to select students, who then return to the school to become ambassadors, however, during Covid-19 they have been unable to do so. As a result, the Cyber Cats program has now been made available online.

There is a Parent Webinar that is currently available completely free of charge that covers 5 simple steps to help keep our children safe online.

Putting aside your AFL team preferences, this is a must-watch for all parents.

The Pedal Shed

We would like to thank Erik from The Pedal Shed in Clifton Springs for his generous sponsorship of the Drysdale PS Bike Ed program. Erik has kindly offered to service and maintain the fleet of bikes we keep at school for those students who don’t have access to one during the Bike Ed program in Years 4 & 5.

Drysdale PS has a long history with Bike Ed and this program is synonymous with the Year 5 Camp to Derby Hill in Maldon. While this camp is not taking place in 2020, there are certainly lots of families out and riding during the current lockdown. So if you need to service a bike, be sure to keep The Pedal Shed in mind.
