Remote Learning Feedback

Thank you for re-engaging with our remote learning program. We know and understand that this is a challenge and thank you for every effort you are making with your children in these difficult weeks.

Most of our staff have children at home and are juggling their responsibilities to your children with supervising their own.
Since the previous period of remote learning in term 2, we have been reviewing our approach in anticipation of a second round which is now upon us.

We are always open to feedback which can be sent to me via email philip.dunlop-moore@education.vic.gov.au or the school drysdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au .

ICAS Tests

A number of families have booked places for their children to take part in the annual University of New South Wales ICAS tests. These were scheduled to take place over the next couple of weeks. With Victorian schools running remote learning programs, our tests have been rescheduled to Monday 12th to Friday 23rd October.

School Concert Rescheduled

With remote learning it is not practical to run our school concert at the end of this term. Mr Stephens has been preparing for a range of scenarios. The Year 6 concert will now happen towards the end of Term 4.

Depending on restrictions in Term 4, we are also hoping to run concert for some or all of the other year levels in some form in Term 4. Our priority is the Year 6 students as this is a big highlight for children in their final year at DPS.

The AP WrAP

We are so very lucky to have some fabulous students who come into our office to share their amazing learning each week. As we are in Remote Learning, this is not possible but we would love it if students still want to share their learning with us.

They can send a picture of their work or a picture of them with their work through to us using the school email. drysdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au

We have attached some of the Smiling Minds modules we mentioned in the previous Link. You will find Module 1 attached for children aged 5-6, 8-10 and 11-12.

Camp Australia

Despite the challenging times everyone is going through we are still managing to have some laughs at OSHC, whether it be sharing some jokes during snack time, or enjoying a good game of Uno or Connect 4. The children who are still attending OSHC have been especially enjoying participating in wool craft this past week.

Our apologies for the uncertainty of last weeks Newsletter article. At the time of newsletters being submitted we honestly weren’t quite sure what was going on. Now it seems likely that OSHC will continue to operate our normal hours for children of essential workers who are also attending the supervised classroom at the school to do their remote learning, if needed. Parents please remember that if your child is no longer requiring care please ensure you cancel your bookings as soon as possible.
