Drysdale Primary School

Last Week of School

The last week of our school year will be an exciting and busy time for all with numerous events and activities taking place. We will be holding an assembly as usual on Monday, 16th December starting at 9:05am in the Hall.  At this assembly we will be announcing the students who will be our Student Leaders, House Captains, Junior School Councillors and Kids Matter kids, for 2020. We encourage parents/guardians to attend to share the success of our students.

On Tuesday we anticipate releasing end of year reports to our parents/guardians via Sentral.  As a result of technical changes within the Sentral system, we are able to make the reports even more personalised for each child.

On Wednesday evening the Year 6 students will attend their graduation celebration. We hope that they enjoy the evening and the celebrations!

On Thursday each year level has class parties and activities planned (remember to return your permission forms, the day will be lots of fun!).

On Friday morning we will hold our final assembly of the year where we will announce the major award winners for the year and farewell our Year 6 students.  This final assembly begins at 9:05am in the Hall.  All parents/guardians, family and friends are welcome to attend and we look forward to sharing our students achievements with you.

On the last day of term, students will be dismissed from school at 2:30pm. We hope our DPS community enjoy a safe and happy holiday break, we look forward to seeing you all again on the first day of Term 1 – Wednesday, 29th January 2020.

Christmas Celebration Night

As we come into December we are looking forward to a number of events to celebrate a very successful year at Drysdale Primary School. Our Parents Fundraising Group have organised a Carols and Film night this coming Friday, December 13th. The children will be getting into the Christmas spirit by singing some carols. We are hoping for a visit from Santa. Later in the evening we will be showing the film Elf. The forecast is next door to perfect: warm, dry and not too windy. In the unlikely event that this changes between now and Friday the event will simply move inside into the hall. Please keep reading this edition of the Link to find more information about the exciting event!

Daniel’s Donut Day

The Junior School Council were thrilled with the success of our first ever Daniel’s Donut stall. 250 donuts were sold in around 15 minutes and we raised over $350 to go towards our Legacy Gift. This money, along with the money we have raised from the Second Hand Clothing stalls has paid for a number of motivational quote stickers that will be put in the senior toilets to complete their makeover.

We would like to thank Anna Richardson who worked closely with Daniel’s Donuts and the Junior School Council to make this happen. Thank you also to Clint and Aimee Fear who completed the enormous first stage of the toilet makeover that allowed us to finish it off. We hope that the students in years to come will notice the difference.
