Remembrance Day

Yesterday, our four Year 6 school captains Dom, Liv, Harry and Zahra represented the school at the Drysdale Remembrance Day Ceremony.  They joined members of the RSL and representatives of other local organisations to remember the sacrifice of so many people through conflicts over the last century.  Our captains read a poem and laid a wreath on behalf of our community. Please read on for photos.

Pupil Free Day – Monday 25th November

Please note that the fourth and final pupil free day for 2019 is being held on Monday November 25th.  This means that the school is closed and students are not required at school. This pupil free day allows staff professional learning to take place.  We will be splitting our time between sessions deepening our understanding of Jolly Phonics, reviewing our 2019 NAPLAN outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of our spelling program.

ICAS Certificates

Yesterday in assembly we presented the remaining ICAS certificates to those children who completed these tests.  The original message from ICAS was that schools needed to print the certificates.  This has now been changed.  Consequently we will replace the certificates presented in assembly with the official ones as they arrive in school.

Lost Property

Some important reminders to all parents regarding lost property;

  • Please label all clothing that comes to school! If items came labelled to school our mountain of lost property would be much more manageable. We often find brand new jumpers or pants that are in perfect condition, but with no name. Please label everything!
  • If your child doesn’t bring home an item of clothing, go to the lost property at the back of the hall and look for it
  • Any items that haven’t been claimed from lost property by Monday 16th December (last Monday of term) will be given to second hand uniform for sale

Also, please be advised that we currently have a couple of items of lost property that your child may be missing! We currently have a mobile phone and a fitbit which have been handed in, if you believe these belong to your child please send them to the Administration Office to describe the item and collect them.

FlexiBuzz Parent App

We are very excited to announce the launch of our new Parent App, FlexiBuzz. We are committed to strengthening the communication between the school and home, particularly between parents and teachers. The introduction of FlexiBuzz opens up a new channel where the school and teachers can communicate directly with parents in a timely and convenient manner.

The FlexiBuzz App runs on both Android and Apple devices and can also be used via a website on any internet-connected device. The App is free to download and there is no cost involved with the registration.

We would like to thank our Parent Fundraising Group who raised the funds to purchase FlexiBuzz at the Family Dance Night earlier this year.
