Drysdale Community Market

Drysdale Community Market – Sunday 20th October

The Drysdale Community Market is starting its summer season at the Drysdale Reserve, which is situated next to the football and netball club, on Sunday, 20th October. Our market is currently organised by Bre Gage, one of our parents and a member of our brilliant School Council, that also supports the event.

To ensure the market runs smoothly we are asking for a volunteer to help each month.  Last year a small team of parents were coordinated by Lorraine Gaskell and Fiona Horne and those volunteers shared the role.  Essentially we would need eight parents – one for each month of the summer market season (October through to May) – who can spare a couple of hours from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on market day, which is the third Sunday of each month.  If you are able to volunteer for any one of these Sunday mornings, please let me know or leave a message at the office.  Many thanks.

SunSmart Term 4

Drysdale Primary School is a SunSmart school committed to helping the children stay safe from the effects of the sun in the hotter months of the year.  Children are required to wear a broad brimmed or legionnaire style hat when they are outside during Term 4 especially during recess and lunchtime. Unfortunately caps are not acceptable.

Please can those students who have not remembered on the first couple of days of term ensure that they bring a suitable hat to school for the remainder of the term.  With so many hats at school it is important that these are named so that they can be returned to the right person if they become lost.

Parent App

We are very excited to announce the launch of our new Parent App, FlexiBuzz. We are committed to strengthening the communication between the school and home, particularly between parents and teachers. The introduction of FlexiBuzz opens up a new channel where the school and teachers can communicate directly with parents in a timely and convenient manner.

The FlexiBuzz App runs on both Android and Apple devices and can also be used via a website on any internet-connected device. The App is free to download and there is no cost involved with the registration.

We would like to thank our Parent Fundraising Group who raised the funds to purchase FlexiBuzz at the Family Dance Night earlier this year.

Walk, Ride and Scoot to School

Walk, ride or scoot to school this October!

‘Walk to School Month’ is here! It runs from October 7th to November 1st.

We would love to see all students, parents and families walking, riding, scooting and skating together to school! Walking to school is a great way to socialise with peers, improves concentration levels in class and adds up for the 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity that children need to complete every day.

So let’s get active together!

Camp Australia

Welcome back to OSHC for term 4. We hope that everyone had a happy, safe and relaxing holiday. We look forward to hearing all the amazing stories about what everyone has been up to. It’s hard to believe that we are already in the last term of the year. It feels like yesterday we were in term one. As one of the children told me this morning, there are only 52 more days of school until summer holidays…and 77 days until Christmas (isn’t that a scary thought?) It promises to be an action packed term, with lots of fun planned for the children to participate in. A highlight promises to be our special Recycling week which will be held in November.
