Division Golf Championships

Congratulations to the students who recently participated in the Division Golf Championships at Clifton Springs Golf Club. On a beautifully sunny day the six students enjoyed playing 9 holes against students from across Geelong. Special congratulations to Ziva of Year 5 who came second on the day.

Ziva and Denham of Year 6 have qualified to play in the region championships at Curlewis in November.

Drysdale Home Timber and Hardware

This week’s local Business of the Week is Drysdale Home Timber and Hardware. Our only hardware store in town have generously supported the upcoming Bogan Bingo with a donation of a Baby Weber Q for our raffle.

Combinations can be purchased for $5 from the office leading up to the night, or $10 on the night itself. With a RRP of $329, this is huge value! Note – you don’t have to be there on the night to win.

Scholastic Book Fair

It’s time to ROARRR for reading! The Scholastic Dino-Mite Book Fair is arriving today, 20th August until 23rd August and everyone is invited to stomp, chomp, and READ! There will be “dino-riffic” texts and possibly some stationary (who doesn’t love books and stationary?!!). Our school will benefit with a percentage of sales going towards rewards and incentives for our students. The Fair will be located in the portables and will be open for purchasing after school from 3:30pm-4:00pm (approx. depending on customers). We are also looking or any fabulous volunteers who would like to assist in the running of the Fair. At this stage we are selling after school from 3:30-4:00pm however if we receive enough volunteers we can open 8:30-8:50am Tues-Fri. An event as big as a Brontosaurus!

The Rolling Pin Pie Delivery – Thursday 22nd August

We would like to thank all the families who placed orders for The Rolling Pin Pie Drive Fundraiser. Delivery date will be Thursday, 22nd August from 3pm-4pm from the Canteen.

We ask that families bring a shopping bag or box to collect their order as it reduces the use of plastic.

Indonesian Day – Monday 26th August

We are preparing for the exciting Indonesian Day celebration to be held on Monday 26th August! Students will be participating in various activities involving Indonesian dance, art, music and games. On this day, the students are asked to wear clothing that is red and/or white to represent the flag or traditional Indonesian clothing. The whole school assembly on the day will have an Indonesian theme. Family members are welcome to participate in the morning session with their child following the assembly.

Sports Shirts

With a huge team heading off to District Athletics this week, our sports shirts are in high demand. We are running very low at the moment. Could families please do a check to see if they have any at home that could be sent back into Mr Sinnott?

Camp Australia

This week we will be celebrating Book Week at OSHC, with lots of fun book based activities planned for the children to participate in if they want. These include making up their own story, drawing their favourite book characters, recreating book cover designs with perler beads, making comic book strips, and many others. The children will also be able to engage in the normal range of activities on offer each day at OSHC.
