Drysdale Primary School

Market

The local Drysdale Market which is held monthly on the Reserve next to the football and netball club is organised and run by Drysdale Primary School with the support of parents, school council and staff. This is one of the school’s major fundraisers contributing nearly $20,000 annually to support our highly regarded Wellbeing program. I would like to acknowledge the support of Bre Gage who is our Market Coordinator, a parent and a school council member. Sunday’s market was also supported by Fiona Horne one of our parent volunteers.

Kids Matter Assembly

On two Mondays each term our whole school assembly supports our Kids Matter program. This has been running for nearly three years to provide a framework to support our students’ personal development. This term these assemblies will happen on February 25th, next Monday, and March 18th. Children are invited to wear their house t-shirts on these days. During assembly they sit in their house groups rather than their classes.

Library Helpers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to assist in the Library on a regular basis.  No prior library experience is needed, just a current Working with Children’s Check. Tasks may include putting books away, tidying, labelling, repairing books and helping students to borrow books. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Please let the Administration Office know if you can assist or email the school on drysdale.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au. Susan Cairns or Tara van Winckel, who are running the Library this year, will then be in touch. Many thanks!

Working Bee

There will be a working bee at school this Sunday 24th February running from 9-11am. We would love to see as many families as possible come and lend a hand! We will be doing some gardening and DIY across the school, so please bring gloves, shovels, brooms, rakes, wheelbarrows and if anyone has a whipper snipper that would be fantastic too. We will all meet in the staffroom at 9am and then go from there. Hope to see you then!
