Debating Team

We would like to extend an invitation to the school community to come along to support our Year 6 Debating team in their debate against Point Lonsdale. This will be held on Thursday afternoon from 4.30pm in the Senior Learning Community. Our Year 6s have been working hard on developing their debating skills and are currently sitting on one win and one loss for the season. It would be wonderful to have some familiar faces in the audience to show them our support.

Fresh Fruit Friday

Each week we request parent volunteers from a year level to help cut up fresh fruit and distribute it to classes. If you have time to spare on a Friday morning we would love your help, regardless of what year level your child is in. Younger siblings are more than welcome to join you and play with the toys as long as they remain supervised. Please sign in at the office and make your way to the staff room from 9am.

This Friday, 17th August, we are asking for parent volunteers of Prep students to help cut up fruit.

Thank you to the Drysdale and Portarlington Community Bank Branches of the Bendigo Bank for sponsoring our school’s Fresh Fruit program for 2018.

Uniform Donations and Secondhand Uniform Sale

Our supplies of spare clothes in small sizes is running very low. If you’re child has borrowed a spare change of clothes from school we would appreciate their return as soon as possible. We would also appreciate donations of anything that your child may have outgrown, particularly long pants and underwear in small sizes.

Our parent volunteers will also be holding a secondhand uniform sale this Monday 20th August from 3.15 – 3.45.

Camp Australia

We are now in week five of the term, it is hard to believe how quickly the year is going. One of the children has informed me that there is only 132 days until Christmas. The way the years has gone I’m sure that it will fly by.

This past week the children have been busy making superhero spy masks, which has inspired a lot of dramatic play, as well as making animals out of beads, dancing with ribbons (and then developing the problem solving skills by undoing the knots they have made,) inventing a new game, playing soccer, basketball, football and badminton, playing with balloons, playing the Helicopter game, making designs with the perler beads, making beaded bracelets, among with lots of other games and activities.
