Drysdale Primary School

Academic Outcomes

In June and December we review the children’s assessments to check how we are progressing towards our goals as a school.  Analysis of the results from the June reports show that, taken as a whole school, Drysdale students learn between five and ten percent more in a year than the average for children across the state.  This is a great outcome and reflects the application of the children to their own learning and the ability of the teachers to bring out the best in the students.  There are differences between children’s results as you would expect given that each child is an individual and our approach is to focus on the progress of each child as an individual.  I would like to acknowledge the support we receive from families at home because, although we have the privilege of working with the children in school, the amount children learn reflects the partnership between home and school.  Thank you.

Year 3 and 4 Swimming

The Year 3/4 Swimming program commences on Monday next week and will be the final group of children to attend swimming lessons for the year. While we welcome parental attendance, we do ask that you avoid coming on the first day to allow the centre staff to assess all the children before they can allocate them to an appropriately leveled group. In doing this, they take into consideration the information parents have provided on the Student Information Request forms that were sent home, along with an in-water observation of their initial ability. It is important to note that these groupings do tend to change a little over the first few days as the instructors get to know the children better. Click on read more to find out the lesson times.

Camp Australia

It’s been a busy first week back at school at OSHC, with the children full of lots of stories about what they did on the holidays, including those that attended our first school holiday program.

Parents, please be advised that the way we do the rolls is changing at Before and After School Care.  The 21st century has caught up with us and we are now using a tablet to mark the rolls.  Please be aware that you need to make sure all of your authorized pick up people are not just on the documentation at the service, but also have been entered through head office.  Please ensure that all of your additional contact people are on your records.  This can be checked by contacting Camp Australia Head Office on 1300 105 343.
