In year 4 we have been learning about forces. On Monday 21st, Callan’s Dad, Ben brought his huge cherry picker to drop our parachutes from. We had been working on our parachutes for about two weeks so we could try and slow down some of the gravity. It was super interesting seeing how the parachutes slowed down gravity and it helped us understand how important gravity is. We would like to thank Ben for letting us use the cherry picker to explore gravity.

Each week we request parent volunteers from a year level to help cut up fresh fruit and distribute it to classes. If you have time to spare on a Friday morning we would love your help, regardless of what year level your child is in. Younger siblings are more than welcome to join you and play with the toys as long as they remain supervised. Please sign in at the office and make your way to the staff room from 9am.
This Friday, 1st June, we are asking for parent volunteers of Year 6 students to help cut up fruit.
Thank you to the Drysdale and Portarlington Community Bank Branches of the Bendigo Bank for sponsoring our school’s Fresh Fruit program for 2018.

Social skills are a fundamental part of being able to function in society. To be able to negotiate social situations such as friendships, empathy, conflict resolution and resilience (to name a few) children need opportunities to practice in different settings, with familiar and unfamiliar peers. The skills and tools children gather during their early years will help equip them for later years.

This past week there has been lots going on at OSHC. Active games have been very popular including Tennis, Markers Up, Downball, Lacrosse, Cricket, gymnastics, skipping, group games of fruit salad and What’s The Time Mr. Wolf. Imaginative play and dramatic play have also been popular. The children have also been talking about space, and different countries they would like to visit, or that they have visited. Some of the girls have been trying out the 3 or 4 marker challenge, which has produced some amazing pictures.
