Multicultural Dress Up Day – Thursday 22nd March

To celebrate Multicultural Week and Harmony Day, students are invited to dress up in multicultural dress this Thursday. This could mean wearing something to represent your families culture or a culture of interest to you. Some examples could be a soccer top, a beret and moustache for French etc. If students can’t find any cultural clothing, they can just wear casual for Australian. Gold coin donation is OPTIONAL.

Riding Develops Abilities

This year a select group of students are lucky enough to learn to horse ride at the Riding Develops Abilities Barwon Centre.  Our students will be involved in one session a month at Koombala Park Equestrian Centre.  Here are some great photos of our first session with Prue and Nic!  We are very thankful to the RDA for this brilliant opportunity!

Inquiry Learning Parent Information Session Tonight Tuesday 20th March 3.45pm

If your child has been coming home passionately talking to you about inquiry learning, excursions, big ideas and wonder walls but you have no idea what they are talking about then this is the session for you! At 3.45pm today the 20th March, Felicity Stark (Assistant Principal) will run an information session on Inquiry Learning, giving you an understanding of the approach we take to the teaching of subject areas outside English and Mathematics. The session will be held in the Indonesian room off the new prep space, with some toys out to keep the little ones occupied whilst we chat. Anyone is welcome, hope to see you there.

Fresh Fruit Friday – Preps

Each week we request parent volunteers from a year level to help cut up fresh fruit and distribute it to classes. If you have time to spare on a Friday morning we would love your help, regardless of what year level your child is in. Younger siblings are more than welcome to join you and play with the toys as long as they remain supervised. Please sign in at the office and make your way to the staff room from 9am.

This Friday, 23rd March, we are asking for parent volunteers of Prep students to help cut up fruit.

Thank you to the Bendigo Bank for sponsoring our school’s fresh fruit.

Book Club

The last Book Club catalogue for term 1 has been handed out to all children. All orders need to be returned by Friday 23rd March. If you are ordering online there is a button that allows you to make it a GIFT, so when I receive the order I know not to send the order home with your child. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Miss Daffy in 1D.

Camp Australia

Welcome to the last few weeks of school at Drysdale Primary School for term 1. We hope everyone was able to get rid of all of the paint from the Colour Run. The most popular activity from last week has been the Loom Bands, with Connect 4 and Draughts being the most popular board games, and basketball, hula hooping and skipping being the most popular physical activities. Some of the children have also been taking advantage of their time at OSHC to get some of their homework done, showing great organisational skills.
