Drysdale Primary School

Principal’s Report

Our Principal’s report this week comes from our two Assistant Principals, Felicity Stark and Blanche Denmead. Mr. Dunlop-Moore is absent all this week after injuring his knee on the weekend. We wish Mr. Dunlop-Moore a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him in Term 4. In the meantime, should you require any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact either Felicity or Blanche.

It is hard to believe that the end of term 3 has arrived already! Our students should feel very proud of their efforts this term, approaching their learning with enthusiasm and dedication. We really enjoyed dropping in to Parent Teacher Interviews last week to hear of the great successes that students are experiencing at school in academic, sporting and artistic pursuits. The unique talents of students at Drysdale was again recognised at assembly this week, with a range of talents celebrated, see Mr. Kennedy’s Sports Report for more details. It has also been wonderful to see the Year 6 students embracing their new learning space this term. Once the new furniture has arrived in term 4 we would love to welcome all parents to come in and experience our new building.

Whilst the end of term is fast approaching, we are not quite there yet! We are both very much looking forward to seeing the concert performances this week and hope that you will all be able to join us for this wonderful school community event. Limited tickets are still available

Many thanks to our teachers for all their hard work this term, whether it be planning lessons, running camps, organising sporting events or performances our staff have worked extremely hard over the past 10 weeks. Many thanks must also go to our parent community for their ongoing support of our school. Success at school does not happen without a strong partnership between home and school, and we are so very grateful that these partnerships exist here at Drysdale.

We wish all of our students, and their families, a wonderful break and look forward to welcoming you back in term 4.

Year 4 Camp to Kangaroobie

Last week, 64 Year 4 students attended Camp Kangaroobie. It was a muddy experience for all involved, however the students didn’t seem to mind as they enjoyed running, climbing, canoeing and bush dancing through all the elements. Seeing first-hand the Shipwreck Coast, Loch Ard George and the 12 Apostles was a great experience for all the students, teachers and helpers involved. A big thanks to those helpers who came along to camp and enjoyed the fun of Kangaroobie with the Year 4’s.

See read more for some students reflections about their time at camp and photo gallery.
