Healthy Habits, Healthy Me – Prep Inquiry

This term the Preps inquiry unit is all about actions that keep themselves safe and healthy. The students have done an amazing job at researching different body parts on iPads and in books, and are now creating informative texts. We have explored how food is selected and prepared for healthy eating and look forward to seeing Harold in the Life Education van in Week 7.

Canteen News

Please Note: Online orders will now close at 9.15am each morning instead of 10.00am.

The canteen can not supply plastic cutlery to children for meals/yogurt brought from home. I have also had a number of students coming to the canteen with soup or noodles that need hot water added. Due to our policy we are unable to do this. This includes heating meals in the microwave.

Spring Fair 2017

Plans are well on their way to make our Spring Fair a fun-filled family night with games, activities, entertainment, delicious treats and lots more. As part of the festivities, we will be having a Silent Auction on the night. We have already received some amazing items, thanks to the very generous businesses and school families who have donated thus far, we are continuing to seek further donations so please get in touch if you can assist.

We have been lucky enough to receive 2 signed football jumpers to be included in our Silent Auction, many thanks to Bridget Henry and Fiona Horne for organising these! We would love to have both jumpers framed and are seeking help from families who would be able to assist with this. If you are able to frame the jumpers or have contacts with a business that could frame these for us we would be most grateful for your support.

If you are able to help us with the framing please contact the office on 03 5251 272 or via email drysdale.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

Thank you

Spring Fair Team

Parent Teacher Interviews Booking Information

Our Term 3 Parent Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Monday 11th September 3.45–5.05pm and Tuesday 12th September 3.45–6.45pm.

This is an important part of our reporting processes through which we formally let you know how well your children are doing in school.

The booking system opens Friday 18th August, at 9am. The ‘parent portal’ can be accessed by clicking here. The portal will close Friday 8th September at 5.00pm.

Parent teacher interviews take place in Terms 1 and 3 with written reports in Terms 2 and 4. This is a great chance to find out how you child is doing and what they will be working on next in their learning. It is also a great opportunity to raise any concerns you might have. We are looking forward to meeting up with everyone over those evenings.

New families to the school should have now received a letter home with details on how to register to access our parent portal.

Fresh Fruit Friday – Volunteers from Year 3

Even though we request parent volunteers from a year level each week, if you have time to spare on a Friday morning we would love your help. We have a couple of parents who volunteer every Friday that would love some help.

This Friday,  25th August, we are asking for parent volunteers of Year 3 students to help cut up fruit. If you can assist, please sign in at the office and come to the staff room at 9am.

Thank you to the Bendigo Bank for sponsoring our school’s fresh fruit.

Camp Australia

It has been another busy week at OSHC at Drysdale Primary School.

Many of you might have noticed that a large group of our children decided the external walls of the hall looked a little bare, so they decided to decorate them with chalk. The finished product looks amazing, and the children were very proud of their creation.
